After numerous hours of writing, typing, and editing in December and January, I produced an 18 page proposal. In this proposal I ask for funds that would allow me me to go to Ghana in July and work on setting up a sister school with the high school that I teach at in Brooklyn. It also included a request for funds to go to Kenya so that I could work with an environmental organization there and learn about the environmental issues that plague that part of the world.
The proposal I wrote was approved. I was granted a considerable amount of funds to go and pursue my interests.
I leave on July 14th for Africa. I am excited for this trip but there is still much to be done, Vaccinations and Visas are next on my list.
Do you have any suggestions of ways to prepare me for my trip; Things I should bring? Things I should do before I go?
